Thankfully, TCEC is not experiencing weather-related outages as Oklahoma is hit with severe weather. We are prepared for the worst and hope for the best and encourage members to do the same.
Outages are still taking place today in other areas of Oklahoma. At peak, more than 353,000 consumers were without power, including investor-owned, a few municipalities, and 74,439 cooperative outages.
Following the principle of cooperation among cooperatives, TCEC sent a mutual aid crew yesterday to the Cimarron Electric Cooperative based out of Kingfisher. Two more TCEC mutual aid crews left today to assist CK Energy Cooperative headquartered in Binger, Oklahoma, and Swisher County Electric Cooperative in Tulia, Texas.
The extent of the damage is unknown at this time; some Oklahoma consumers may be without power for multiple days in hard-hit areas. Please keep our sister cooperative members in your thoughts and prayers. #OklahomaStorm2020
